General Dynamics Unveils Ultrathin Sun Ray–Based Clients
The Itronix division of Oracle Gold Partner
General Dynamics has released four new
ultrathin client computers that leverage Sun
Ray Software from Oracle.
The Tadpole M1000 is a 3-pound device
designed for distributed, highly mobile
users and general-purpose computing.
The Tadpole M1500 is a high-performance
notebook with a 15-inch LCD screen that
supports high-definition multimedia, 3-D
imaging, and video. The
Tadpole Pulsar is a wire-
less desktop unit that
handles dual displays,
optical networking,
high-definition multi-
media, 3-D video, and imaging. The Tadpole
Pulsar Premium is a wireless desktop unit for
general-purpose computing.
These ultrathin clients look like typical
PCs and act like them when connected to
a server, but they are free of hard drives,
memory, operating systems, and application software. This configuration provides
protection against viruses and security
issues associated with lost or stolen computers. Other features include instant-on
access to customized user environments
on 3G, local area, and wide-area networks;
plug-and-play setup; 50 percent less power
consumption than a PC; and integrated
virtual private networks.

Group as Business Intelligence

Oracle has selected Oracle Gold Partner BI
Consulting Group (BICG) as a business intelligence (BI) pillar partner for the Central
West U. S. region.
Oracle has recognized BICG for its expertise in strategic technology areas such as BI,
identity management, and Oracle Fusion
Middleware. Oracle selects one or two partners for each region based on stringent competency requirements within a designated
technology. Members of the BICG staff have
completed verification testing and are supporting the Oracle field sales team by sharing
implementation best practices and BI project
success stories.
